DOT Rwanda
UWEZO Youth Empowerment is a youth led disabled persons organisation (DPO), run by and for young disabled people in Rwanda.
UWEZO has been selected by DOT Rwanda to host the ReachUP Prgoramme, a business entrepreneurship training package designed and implemented by DOT to inspiring Rwandan youth.
Under this partnership, UWEZO reached out to youth with disabilities and those without disabilities and helped to start their businesses. UWEZO members have been employed under the programme as DOT Rwanda paid interns and received a number of trainings related to the business entrepreneurship domain.
AbleChildAfrica
UWEZO Youth Empowerment is a youth led disabled persons organisation (DPO), run by and for young disabled people in Rwanda.
AbleChildAfrica is a UK based charitable organization dedicated to promote the rights of children with disabilities in Africa.
The partnership between UWEZO and AbleChildAfrica was realized in 2016 by an implementation of an educational supporting project for vulnerable children with disabilities in Musanze District in the Northern Province of Rwanda.
This project provides basic school material kids missed in order to got to school, train teachers on the provision of inclusive and quality education, bring parents/guardians of children to share experience and as well be encouraged to take responsibilities over the education of their children and as well engage with sector educational officials to seek for sustainable solutions for the education of children with disabilities in their regions enrolment, progression and retaintion of children with disabilities in schools through home and school visits and coaching to kids their mentor.
The partnership also aims at initiating programmes that would broadly make children with disabilities both girls and boys enjoy and dignified and a happy life.
NCPD
UWEZO Youth Empowerment is a youth led disabled persons organisation (DPO), run by and for young disabled people in Rwanda.
The National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) is a public institution established in 2010 to represent the interests and advance the realization of the rights of persons with disabilities.
NCPD recognizes the existence of UWEZO in reaching out to youth with disabilities in communities, youth with disability empowerment and as well counting on UWEZO as a platform for youth with disabilities in Rwanda.
KESC
UWEZO Youth Empowerment is a youth led disabled persons organisation (DPO), run by and for young disabled people in Rwanda.
The Kigali Employment Service Center (KESC) is a center established by the City of Kigali in order to build the skills of youth graduate to secure employment.
KESC works with potential employers and through which youth graduates has secured internship thus getting employed. UWEZO trains KESC and partners in Disability Equality and Mainstream at work in order to remove institutional and infrastructural barrier that affect the employability of youth graduates with disabilities.
UWEZO also consults with KESC in the provision of reasonable accommodation to their programme beneficiaries in need.
NYC
UWEZO Youth Empowerment is a youth led disabled persons organisation (DPO), run by and for young disabled people in Rwanda.
The National Youth Council of Rwanda is a government agency responsible for youth programmes in general. Given the fact that youth with disabilities have not been considered in various programmes, both organizations took interest to partner in promoting a disability friendly youth like employability, civic engagement, community engagement and many more implemented by the National Youth Council. UWEZO represent youth with disabilities in various youth partners meetings organized by the National Youth Council.
